Okay - so I have finally decided to start a blog and what better way then to post about the biggest event of the summer...our new house. On May 23, 2008 Tye and I closed on our first house. Exactly 120 days later we threw our house warming party, which happened to be the same day as the ASU vs. Georgia game.
In the beginning we could not decide how to decorate, but throwing a party put the pressure on. We got the living room decorated just so and were happy with the results.
We all came dressed for the game (note: these pictures are actually from an earlier game, but they still depict the mood). Tye invited friends from his law school and I invited people from work. Everything went well excet for one small mishap; one of my coworker's sons (who was obviously sick when he got here) got up from his seat and yelled "Mom - I need the potty!" He stood up and started for the bathroom but he didn't exactly make it to the bathroom. He took two steps and started hurling dark brown Top Ramen noodle throw-up all over the front room. We spent the next little while cleaning it up while he was making another huge mess in the bath room. The messes didn't ruin our day though; instead they gave it character and things were back to normal quickly. In the end we watched Utah beat Airforce and had a great time.
After the party we headed to the game where Georgia crushed ASU, but we still had a good time!

Hooray--a blog from you! The couch looks great, the party sounds (mostly) fun. I'm guessing the cats did not join in the festivities. Can't wait to see the house! So glad you have a blog!

Sorry about the throw-up at your home--I'm just happy it wasn't one of my kids who did that at your new house! Yay about the blog too--now you'll have to take tons of pictures so they can go along with all your posts. Love you guys!

Wow, that throw-up story is terrible...I bet they felt so bad about their kid making such a mess. But how fun to host friends for various events. Everything looks great in your new home!
Thank you all for the welcome! The mother of the kid did feel so bad, and I felt bad for her. It was just an uncontrollable incident. I look at it as giving the party character.
Oh yeah, the cats did not join in the festivities.
