While Tye was studying for the bar exam Mason and I decided to make a surprise trip to Utah. My mom was returning from a good but difficult trip to Ohio and we wanted to surprise her since she had the rest of the week off.
I got to stay at Tye's parents' house and was able to spend some time with them too. On the first day I met up with Tye's sisters and her cute kids for lunch at Corner Cafe.
After lunch and a nap Mason played in Grandma Bobbi's backyard. We went down the slide, played on the swing, and Mason played with (or harassed) Sam the cat ("itty"). Sam was so nice to let Mason lay on him and pet him. Mason's cats at home would never in their wildest dreams allow this sort of abuse, so Mason was lucky to get to have a cat who would suffer such punishment.
That evening I hung out with my mom (Grandma Donna) we had dinner at Ruby River (a Utah favorite of mine). We then visited my mom's neighbor Bill. I grew up living next to Bill and his wife Kay, they were like grandparents to my sister and me. Kay died last year so, it was good to see that Bill was doing well. It was also fun to let him meet Mason.
I failed to get a pic of my mom while I was there so, here is a picture of her in Greece at the famed Acropolis.

On day two Grandma Bobbi watched Cecily's kids in the morning. It was so fun for Mase and me to get to play with Mase's kids.
Connor was so sweet with Mason
That afternoon my mom and I went to visit my sister Stefanie and her son Xander.
We picked up take out from Wasatch Broiler (another Utah favorite of mine) and hung out at Stefanie's house. Mason loved following his cousin Xander around. Xander is four months older, so Mason thought that he and his toys were so cool.
On the morning of the final day Mase and I went with Grandma Bobbi and Grandpa Sherm to watch Carrie's kids. Mase once again loved playing with his older cousins. We played cars, Cares baked us fake cookies, and we played outside.
Here are Cares, Bean, and Mase going down the slide.
Afterwards we all had lunch at Kneaders (you guessed it another Utah favorite of mine! I really miss the food there.)
That evening before my plane ride home I had dinner with Grandma Donna, Stefanie, her husband Chris, and Xander at Buca Di Beppo. It was a wonderful sending off dinner.
It was a short, fun, and busy trip to Utah. It was sooo fun to spend time with all of my family! I love and miss them all so much. Can't wait until the next time!

I miss the food too! Really the only thing you left out was mexican and crown burger. But I am guessing you can get good mexican food in AZ :)
You should plan on a trip like that every year! We love seeing you and my kids really do love Mason and hanging out with him--and they will just enjoy him more as he gets older.
So glad we could eat yummy food with you while you were here--and enjoy your company too :) I love the pic of the kids in my backyard. Cute.
We were very glad we got some time with you on that trip. Mason was happy and enjoyable, and it's fun to watch him watch the older cousins. I love the picture of you and Mase on the slide, and of Mase and Connor on the grass. And the cousin photos! Come anytime, Stacey!
That was a fun surprise for all of us to get to see you and Mason! Thanks for meeting for brunch and then for watching my kiddos while I was at the doctor.
Come to visit more often! We miss you!
Looks like a wonderful trip! Love the photos with all of the cousins... too cute! ;)
