Closing Argument Competition

On Thursday Tye competed in the finals of a Closing Argument Competition. It started with 40 people entering and eight made it to the finals. I was able to watch the person that went before Tye who was good and had his facts down, but his speech was kind of dry. The judges criticized him by saying that he wasn't persuasive or passionate enough, and that he didn't tell a story. I couldn't help but smile while listening, thinking to myself "you don't even understand what you are about to see."
Tye did a wonderful job in his closing argument. He was very persuasive, passionate, animated, and told us a story. When he finished the first comment from the judges was "Now that's what I'm talkin' about!" Another comment was "Not everyone is suited to be a trial attorney, but you are." The judges also said that he was too loud and needed to control his voice, but we all know Tye and he wouldn't change it for the world. Overall the comments were good, and in the end he placed third and won a partial scholarship! I am so proud of him. Good job babe.

Thanks for the good news! I love the "animated" photos. I would have loved sitting there with you knowing that the others had better step it up to compete with Tye :) Tell him congrats on the scholarship and taking 3rd!

I am sure he left a great impression with his persuasive and animated arguments! People should take notes listening to him in that kind of situation. He is made for this stuff.

Good for him for doing so well and how great to have a scholarship as well!
