Stacey at the Hospital - Episode 4

8:20 p.m.
This is totally crazy! I know I said I would make only non-gross comments, but there is nothing non-gross left to say. Stacey is now fully dilated and she has tried pushing a few times, with little success. The nurse estimated that the birth is anywhere from one to two hours away at this point. The nurse just left to go call Dr. Jew and let him know what is happening. Stacey just threw up, and some other things have happened too, but you don't really need details. Stacey is not feeling nauseated, but she is having much trouble getting comfortable. I can't believe people choose to do this more than once in life. Stacey is shaking uncontrollably now so I need to go and hold her hand.

She is a trooper--remind her to breathe...she can do it but it just might take some time.

Seriously--why do we do this over and over?!! It is so hard and then amazingly worth it at the end...

Go new mommy Stacey!!!

First babies are incredibly hard to deliver, it's true. And well worth it. Just wait until she has that tiny child in her arms--and waits about 6 months! Breathing slowly and deeply--and relaxing as much as possible is helpful at this point. We're with you!

Oh, my heart aches for her. This is rough stuff. And it IS miraculous that you can forget it enough to want to go through it again. And again. And every time it is worth it. Sooooo worth it.

Keep it up Stacey!
